Dena Bank

The Dena bank was established in 1938 under the name Devakaran Nanjee Banking Company limited. This is a fairly old bank all for the country and was established in 1939. Dena bank gained the national bank status in 1970 under the public sector bank act and is now one of the premier banks in the country. This bank is mainly known for lending out money for business purposes to business clients. This bank was sanctioned a loan by the World Bank in 1995 for increasing its capital. This is the first bank to introduce the minor savings scheme and also the first bank to lend out credit cards in rural parts of India.
